SIP trunking is a business grade voice solution that takes advantage of Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. It is cost effective solution to replace your old fashioned and expensive copper phone lines.
By implementing an Aussie Broadband digital service that is capable of carrying the number of phone lines you require we are able route all of your phone calls through our premium Cisco network. This service can be integrated with existing SIP based phone systems or used with Analogue or Digital phone adaptors to link with legacy PABX systems.
There are two ways in which a SIP trunk can be implemented.
It can be implemented as a two way service meaning that calls come in via the SIP trunk and also go out via the SIP trunk. This is designed to replace your current copper phone lines. Your existing phone numbers can be ported across to Aussie Broadband to work with your SIP trunk.
It can also be implemented as a one way service. This means that your outgoing calls can be made utilising the SIP trunk and your incoming calls will continue to come in via your fixed phone lines. The advantage to this implementation type is redundancy, if your phone lines fail you can continue using your SIP trunk and if you SIP trunk fails you can continue using your phone lines.
Our SIP trunk product runs on a dedicated service which means that there is no other traffic on the service that could potentially interfere with the voice quality. The voice quality on a SIP trunk is as good if not better than a copper phone line. We also put Quality of Service (QoS) on the link so that each call gets a suitable amount of bandwidth to it self. All calls using Aussie Broadband VoIP technology stay on our network; this means that they never get routed out onto an internet connection where QoS is not applied.
SIP line rental is less expensive than copper phone lines, call costs are less expensive over Aussie Broadband SIP because we utilize VoIP technology on the Aussie Broadband network.
It is very easy to add or remove SIP lines from your service. If you find that your call volume has increased in most cases we can add another line to your service in less than an hour also if your business moves address it’s much easier to move a SIP trunk than it is to move multiple copper phone lines.
Aussie Broadband can manage all your fixed phone services for you, providing a One Stop-Shop and a single point of contact for all your communication needs.
